The National Folk Museum, which was built in 1939, is located inside the grounds of Gyeongbokgung Palace. It showcases over 4,000 artifacts and it is divided into three large sections, namely History of Korean People, Korean Way of Life and Life Cycle of the Koreans.
The National Palace Museum of Korea, which was built in 1938, is also located Gyeongbokgung Palace. It showcases over 40,000 royal artifacts and the artistic skills of the Joseon era. Gold embroidered Hanbok, as well as accessories pinned on the knotted hair of queens and princesses during the Joseon Dynasty are on display.
Their traditional clothing Hanbok are still worn nowadays during festivals or special occasions like weddings, 60th birthday or a child’s first birthday.
